Fat Quarter Tote Bag

Since I am new to sewing and quilting, I bought a magazine called Quick-To-Stitch Precuts. The magazine has a bunch of different projects that use fat quarters. One page had instructions on how to sew and quilt a tote bag.

I bought a set of Fat Quarters at Walmart, it took me a couple days to sew the bag together and quilt the pockets, some things are a little crooked but it was my first try at something like this, so I think it came out fairly well.

New Sewing Machine

I have never sewed anything before in my life. I am up visiting my grandma for a month, and she asked me if I would like to learn how to sew. I've always wanted to learn how to quilt so I told her sure and if she'd teach me to quilt also.

We then went to the store to pick out a sewing machine for me. I found a Brother 130 Stitch Quilting and Sewing Machine that I liked.

We brought it home and set it up, then my grandma gave me two small pieces of fabric to make a burp cloth. For my first attempt at sewing I think it came out pretty well.
